Xinma Hydropower Station, located in Dechang County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, is the 20th cascade hydropower Station in the adjustment planning of the main stream of Anning River, with the design water head of 92 m, the designer flow of 183 m³ /s, and the installed capacity of 150 MW. The project was started in January 2006 and completed in January 2013.
Xinma Hydropower Station had a 23.2 km long headrace tunnel, the longest headrace tunnel in Asia at that time, passing through the Chengdu-Kunming Railway and the Beijing-Kunming Expressway.
Xinma Hydropower Station had the largest surge shaft in China at that time with a diameter of 26m.
