Laos Houay Por Hydropower Station

Houay Por Hydropower Station is located in the Xeset River Basin, Sarawan Province, Lao People's Democratic  Republic, with the design water head of 64 m, the designer flow of 29 m³/s, and the installed capacity of 15 MW. The project was started in February 2015 and completed in July 2017.
The penstock of the Houay Por Hydropower Station is 1 km long, and the surge shaft is required for regulation guarantee calculation. After optimization, the surge shaft is canceled and the pressure regulating valve is set up by the contractor, which has saved investment for the employer and has been in safe and stable operation up to now.
